About the Event

The impact of Artificial Intelligence systems is already noticed in our daily lives: AI is widely used in the criminal justice system, law-enforcement, healthcare, and in the financial and employment sectors. Most notably, it is this emergent technology the one currently used in predicting and fighting epidemics, self-driving cars, and the automation of weapons. Ultimately, a consequential challenge of implementing AI tools relates to the interference of AI with fundamental rights. For all this and more, UN Secretary General Antonio Gutierres has legitimate grounds to fear that the next major war will begin with a massive cyber-attack which will target the military capacity of states and paralyse their basic infrastructure such as the electric networks. Thus, it is timely to explore the main risks coming from cyberspace and to look at the current legal and geopolitical challenges. In this event, our guest speakers Anda Bologa (Affiliated expert on cybersecurity and data privacy at Europuls) and Cezara Panait (Affiliated expert on digital policis at Europuls), together with Samir l. Chouman, (CYIS Director Political-Military Dimension) will explore: 1. The major vulnerabilities and opportunities posed by cyberspace. 2. Possibilities for ethical and trustworthy approaches to AI applications world-wide. ⏰ Wednesday, 25th November 7 PM CET Want to join us? Register here: https://bit.ly/36UZFae
