Purpose

The purpose of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policy at CYIS is to affirm our commitment to creating and maintaining a workplace environment that values diversity, ensures equity, and fosters inclusion. This policy reflects our belief that a diverse workforce is a critical component of our success and innovation, and it outlines our commitment to building a culture where differences are celebrated, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Scope

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, volunteers, and stakeholders of CYIS, across all levels and departments.

Policy Statement

CYIS is dedicated to:

• Promoting Diversity:

We commit to attracting, hiring, and retaining a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve. This includes proactive efforts to ensure diversity in race, gender, age, religion, identity, and experience.

• Ensuring Equity:

CYIS pledges to create equitable opportunities for all employees, ensuring that every member of our team has access to the same opportunities for growth, development, and success. We will continuously evaluate our policies, procedures, and practices to identify and eliminate any barriers to equity.

• Fostering Inclusion:

We strive to create an inclusive workplace where every employee feels valued and heard, and where differences are respected and celebrated. CYIS will promote an open and inclusive culture that encourages collaboration, flexibility, and fairness to ensure that all employees feel welcomed and included.

• Implementation
DEI Training and Education:

CYIS will provide ongoing training and education to employees at all levels on the importance of DEI in the workplace. This will include, but not be limited to, unconscious bias training, cultural competency training, and inclusive leadership training.

• Inclusive Recruitment and Retention Practices:

We will implement recruitment and retention strategies that prioritize diversity and equity, including diverse hiring panels, equitable compensation practices, and support for underrepresented groups.

• Employee Resource Groups (ERGs):

CYIS supports the formation and operation of ERGs as platforms for employees to connect, share experiences, and foster a more inclusive workplace.

• Feedback and Reporting Mechanisms:

We will establish clear mechanisms for employees to provide feedback on DEI matters and report instances of discrimination, bias, or harassment. CYIS commits to addressing such reports promptly and effectively.

Regular DEI Assessments: The organization will conduct regular assessments of workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion, including employee surveys and policy reviews, to identify areas for improvement and track progress over time.
