Andrei is the Founder, Chief Executive & Chair of the Board of the Center for Youth and International Studies (CYIS). As the Chief Executive of CYIS he is responsible for the growth of the Center to be one of the world's leading organisations to provide facts and analysis on future global security, development and humanitarian threats.

Background

With a BA from Lancaster University in Politics and Economics, and a MA in International Security his areas of expertise include arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation, CBRN policy, security foresight & long-range trend analysis, autonomous technologies, future of conflict and space warfare within the NATO-EU cooperation and Sino-U.S. context.


Prior to assuming Directorship of the CYIS in 2020 he served in several international security orientated IGOs, most notably the Comprehensive Test-Ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO), the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and in the European Commission. He is the former Special Advisor to the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT) and Warfare Development Scenario Analyst at the NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) in Virginia, Norfolk.


A storyteller at heart, Andrei has spoken internationally at numerous conferences about geo-political trends and emerging threats to youth. Andrei’s accolades include the UNICEF on Campus Honorary Member and Ambassador, Lancaster Gold Award as well as Outstanding Delegate Awards for BISMUN and MUNIST.

His mission is to solve youth vulnerabilities with innovative and sustainable solutions. He brings the creative thinking of youth to shape the strategic agenda for governments, industry and academia through analysis on emerging cross-dimensional and regional threats to youth. He is committed to providing the best strategic analysis to an ever-widening audience. Andrei further helps social entrepreneurs successfully navigate the challenging journey of building a successful and impactful NGO by providing true partnership, engaging leadership, industry experience and access to key resources.
