Andrei Cursaru is the Director of the Center for Youth and International Studies (CYIS). As the Chief Executive of CYIS he is responsible for the growth of the Center to be one of the world's leading organisations to provide facts and analysis on future global security, development and humanitarian threats.
Arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation, CBRN policy, security foresight & long-range trend analysis, autonomous technologies, future of conflict and space warfare within the NATO-EU cooperation context.

With a BA from Lancaster University in Politics and Economics and a MA in International Security his areas of expertise include arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation, CBRN policy, security foresight & long-range trend analysis, autonomous technologies, future of conflict and space warfare within the NATO-EU cooperation and Sino-U.S. context.
Prior to assuming Directorship of the CYIS in 2020 he served in several international security orientated IGOs, most notably the Comprehensive Test-Ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO), the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and in the European Commission. He is currently the Special Advisor to the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT) at the NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) in Virginia, Norfolk.
