Background

Eleanor completed a BA in War and Security Studies at the University of Hull in 2019. During her time there she developed an interest in Atrocity Prevention, the Responsibility to Protect and humanitarian intervention. She ended her studies at Hull by completing her Dissertation entitled 'Answering Annan's Question: How might we Improve the Enforcement of the Responsibility to Protect?' This work supported the involvement of Regional Organisations in interventions under the Responsibility to Protect.

Having found her passion, Eleanor continued her studies at the University of Leeds. She graduated in MA Global Governance and Diplomacy in 2020. Her work here built on her previous studies and she wrote on the importance of education in post-genocide peace building in Rwanda. Her final piece, written in partnership with Protection Approaches, was titled: 'Practising Protection: Examining and Understanding Britain's Post-Brexit approach to the Responsibility to Protect through the lens of Practice Theory'.

Eleanor has ambitions to complete a PhD examining the development of Atrocity Prevention strategies.
