Background
Laura holds a double B.A. from Rouen University (France) in Humanities and Contemporary World and Political Sciences, with a main focus on security issues. She also completed an M.A. in International Relations at the Free University Brussels (Belgium), with a specialization in Security, Peace, and Conflict. She wrote her master thesis on space cooperation, entitled "Between security approach, peaceful use and state interests: outer space as a theatre of new power issues within the United Nations since 2007 (Re)thinking space cooperation in the light of the security dilemma". Laura has worked as a journalist in several news organizations, both print, and radio, at a local and national level. In 2020, Laura joined the GRIP as a research assistant for six months, an independent francophone research group based in Brussels. GRIP works in the field of conflict prevention and has a recognized expertise on armament and disarmament issues. As a research assistant in the 'Armaments and Disarmament' department, she focused on the use of new technologies in warfare and wrote several publications, including one on the militarization of space or on the use of American drones on the Al Shabaab group in Somalia.
